The yen slipped to another record low against the euro in New York`s early Thursday dealing, falling to 163.62 before firming up a bit approaching mid-morning. Euro zone industrial PPI came in line with expectations, rising 0.3% on month in March.
The yen was little changed against the dollar Thursday morning in New York, moving in a narrow range around 120.10. Traders were nervously awaiting the Labor Department`s reports on weekly jobless claims and first quarter productivity.
Choppy trading against the sterling left the yen slightly weaker Thursday morning in New York. The yen traded at 239.25 nearing mid-morning as investors considered data showing that British services PMI fell in April.
