Metal Prices Down Early On Wednesday, Wednesday, May 09, 2007 8:59:10 AM

Metal prices declined early in U.S. trading. Gold continued its decline that has lasted throughout this week, falling off a 10-day high. Silver, copper, palladium and platinum also fell.

Gold prices were down in early U.S. trading on Wednesday. Gold for June delivery was at $684.80, down $2.60 for the session. Bullion has been falling throughout the week after climbing to a 10-day high last Friday.

Silver declined in early U.S. trading on Wednesday. Silver fell 8.5 cents to $13.51. Trading has been flat throughout this week.

Copper slipped early in U.S. trading on Wednesday. Copper for July delivery was at $3.689, down 3.35 cents. Trading dropped sharply at about 8:25 and the slide lasted for about 20 minutes of trading.

Platinum prices were down slightly early on Wednesday in U.S. trading. Platinum for July delivery was at $1,335.50, down $7.70 on the session. Prices cooled off on Tuesday after climbing to their highest level in months.

Palladium fell again on Wednesday in U.S. trading. The metal for June was at $372.95, down $3 on the session. Prices dropped on Tuesday after trending up for a week.
