To the other major Asian currencies like the Indian Rupee and the South Korean Won, the US dollar made advances during the session. However, it slipped slightly against the Japanese Yen.
Drifting lower in the late hours on Monday, the US currency traded at 1.5136 versus the Singapore dollar at 9:20 pm ET. Soon after, the Greenback reversed some of its losses but it moved sideways within about an hour. The pair extended the same trend until about 12:30 am ET Tuesday, but it strengthened slightly thereafter. As of 2:25 am Eastern Time, a Greenback fetched 1.5158 against the Singapore dollar.
To the Hong Kong dollar, the US currency ticked down on late Monday in New York. However, at about 9:35 pm ET, off 7.8084 the pair bounced back completely and steadied further higher. Currently the Buck has been continuing its uptrend and traded at 7.8135 Hong Kong dollars as of 2:25 am Eastern Time Tuesday.
The US dollar traded in a tight range against its South Korean counterpart until about 8:00 pm ET, but the pair slid briefly thereafter. However, the dollar made a sharp spike higher within half an hour. The pair thus moved from 922.9000 to 924.4000 by about 11:20 pm ET. The dollar then traded sideways and it was quoted at 923.9000 Won as of 2:06 am Eastern Time Tuesday.
During late Monday in New York, the US dollar showed choppy trading versus the Indian Rupee. The pair started trending higher at about 11:25 pm ET and carried over its uptrend into the very early deals on Tuesday. As of 2:25 am Eastern Time, a dollar collected 40.8650 Rupees.
Against the Thai Baht, the Greenback weakened slightly in the evening hours on Monday. After hitting as low as of 33.3550 at about 7:55 pm ET, the pair held steady and resumed the same trend into the very early deals on Tuesday. As of 2:25 am Eastern Time Tuesday, a Greenback was worth 33.3550 against the Thai Baht.
