The dollar was uncertain against the euro Wednesday morning in New York. Recently, the greenback has been consistently moving off an all-time low against the euro that it saw last week. Wednesday`s movement was choppy, but did put the dollar slightly higher than where it started the day. The release of the Federal Reserve`s interest rate statement later in the day will set the next move for the dollar. Shortly before 9 am Eastern Time, the buck traded at 1.3543 against the euro.
The greenback was also uncertain in trading with the yen on Wednesday morning in New York. The dollar climbed against its Japanese counterpart throughout the early morning, reaching a two-day high of 120.08 around 7 am Eastern Time. However, the buck fell from that high and less than two hours later it traded around 119.75. The movement kept the dollar within a recent trading range with the yen.
The dollar lost ground to the sterling on Wednesday morning in New York. The greenback saw little movement during the early morning, but around 5 am Eastern Time, the buck began to slip. The dollar saw its largest drop at 8 am Eastern Time, and shortly before 9 am Eastern Time, traded at 1.9948 against the pound.
