The euro slid to a 10-day low against the dollar late Thursday morning in New York. The euro reached a daily high of 1.3622 at around 7:30 a.m. ET. But stronger-than-expected jobs data in the U.S. led to a sharp rally for the dollar a little after 8:30 a.m. The euro fell to 1.3550 at 10:15 a.m. ET. before stabilizing.
The euro fell after bouncing off resistance against the British pound. The euro was at a weekly high of 0.6836 at 3 a.m. but trended down for the rest of the morning. It got to 0.6820 by 11:15 a.m.
The euro slipped off of a record high against the Japanese yen. The European currency got up to 163.58 at 2 a.m. but fell back from there. It got as low as 163.12 at 10:30 a.m.
