The euro was little changed against the dollar Thursday morning in New York after losing ground on Wednesday. The euro fetched 1.351 approaching mid-morning with the US Labor Department due to release its weekly report on initial jobless claims.
The euro stayed near a record high from the previous session against the yen Thursday morning in New York, fetching 163.73 after the Bank of Japan held its key interest rates at 0.50%.
Choppy trading against the sterling left the euro little changed at .6838 Thursday morning in New York. Traders considered data from the UK showing housing starts fell 9% on year in the first quarter.
