Euro Clings To Early Gains Versus Majors, Friday, May 04, 2007 7:12:01 AM

The euro firmed up against other major currencies in Thursday`s very early dealing and held steady as of mid-morning in New York. Traders considered data showing that Euro zone services PMI declined in April.

The euro improved against the dollar in the small hours of Friday morning in New York, fetching 1.3565 ahead of the US Labor Department`s April employment report.

The euro advanced against the yen Friday morning in New York. After falling to 162.86 late last night, the euro improved to 163.25 approaching mid-morning. Trading was subdued with Japanese markets closed for a second day.

The euro strengthened against the sterling Friday morning in New York, climbing to .6827 after moving around .6815 the previous evening.
