Yen Mostly Weak Against Its Counterparts, Monday, May 07, 2007 2:11:10 PM

The yen was weak against the euro and dollar in trading on Monday, while showing uncertain movement against the sterling. Generally, the currency moved as the BoJ released minutes for last month`s meeting.

In trading against the sterling on Monday, the yen showed choppy action. The yen bounced between a low of 239.17 and a high of 239.49. Generally, the Japanese currency is at a three and a half month low against the cable.

Against the euro, the yen declined steadily in Monday`s trading. The currency dropped to a mark of 163.36 by the afternoon. On the whole, the Japanese currency is at a multi-year low.

The yen slipped versus the buck in trading on Monday. The fall took the Japanese currency to a mark of 120.04 in the afternoon. Overall, the Japanese yen is near a two month low against the dollar.

The minutes of the BoJ`s Policy board meeting held on March 19 and 20 released by the central bank on Monday showed that the hold decision was taken by a unanimous vote.
