Latin American Currencies Varied On Thursday, Thursday, May 03, 2007 12:01:01 PM

The Latin American currencies were varied against the American dollar in midday action on Thursday. The currencies moved with little economic news from the area.

The Mexican peso rose against the dollar in trading on Thursday. The advance took the Mexican currency to a mark of 10.8950 by the mid-day. On the whole, the peso is at a three and a half month high.

The Argentina peso was mixed against the buck on Thursday. By the mid-day, the peso had moved between a high of 3.0820 and a low of 3.0850. Overall, the peso is at a weekly high against its American counterpart.

The Brazilian real saw mixed movement against the dollar as trading progressed on Thursday. The real bounced between a high of 2.0080 and a low of 2.0260. Generally, the currency is at a weekly high.
