Euro Mostly Strong Against Counterparts, Monday, May 07, 2007 2:00:53 PM

The euro was mostly strong in trading against its world counterparts on Monday. The currency moved as the European Comission released its Spring 2007 economic forecast.

The euro was choppy against the American dollar in action on Monday. The currency moved between a high of 1.3623 and a low of 1.3598. In general, the European currency is near a weekly high.

In trading against the sterling, the euro saw strength on Monday. By the mid-afternoon, the currency had advanced to a mark of 0.6825. Overall, the euro is within the range of the past two months.

Against the yen, the euro rose steadily in Monday`s trading. The currency advanced to a mark of 163.36 by the afternoon. On the whole, the European currency is at a multi-year high.

Euro zone economy is forecasted to grow 2.6% in the year 2007. The EC raised the projection from 2.4% given in the Interim Forecast, published in February.
