The yen was uncertain against the euro Monday morning in New York, trading in a tight range around 162.40 amid the release of data showing French industrial production index unexpectedly fell 0.8% on month in April.
The yen was little changed against the sterling Monday morning in New York, trading at 238.50 as of 7:20 am ET. Traders considered data showing U.K annual house price inflation accelerated to 11.3% in April.
The yen inched a bit lower to the dollar Monday morning in New York, slipping to 121.79 from 121.55 overnight. With no major economic data due from the US Monday, traders await separate speeches from US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan on Tuesday.
